Hi… I´m back! Almost 10 days have left, but it still feels unreal to be here in Germany although I am in my familiar surroundings. India was so fantastic, words cannot describe. I´m so grateful for this experience. Our trip started in Düsseldorf via Dubai to Delhi. There we directly started and visited a Sikh temple and Gandhi memorial. After that we drove about 6 hours to Agra. The guide advertised the new “Autobahn”. Ha, ha it was really rolling but totally ok. We all were so tired from the flight that we in spite of it all immediately felt asleep. After the first night in the hotel, the day started wonderfully. We visited Taj Mahal. We walked around for a while and could explore the area around. It was very impressive and we took wonderful pictures. On that day we also viewed Agra Fort bevor we go further to Jaipur. Next day in Jaipur we saw Palace of the Winds and then we took a ride on an elephant to Fort Amber. (I have to say that I didn´t felt well about the elephants.) Also on that day we visited City Palace of the Maharajas with historical astronomical observatory. The next day we had to get up very early to take the flight to Cochin in Kerala (via Mumbai). After a next long day of traveling we arrived to Carmelites priory in Paravoor. This was our stay for the next 4 days. The fathers and students there were so kind to us. It was awfully nice there. We meet the families and friends of the fathers and visited some schools, students and other families. It was so great to meet this entire people. They were all so kind and grateful. We also did a trip on a fisherman boat, went to a beautiful waterfall and attended to a Hindu festival with elephants and look at a lot of churches. It was a really good time. For the next two days we drove to Munnar. It´s situated at around 1,600 metres above sea level in the southwestern Indian state of Kerala. There are kilometers of tea plantations. We took a walk through the plantations and climb the hill across the jungle.  Also we visited a tea museum and factory. I bought a lot of tea there. Next stop was Kumarakom. We did a stunning trip on a gorgeous houseboat on the backwaters. It was about 6 hours and very relaxing. The next hotel was close to a fabulous beach in Mararikulam. The last day we spend for some shopping. After that we drove back to Cochin/Paravoor.  There we had a stunning goodbye-dinner in the priory. I´ve learned so much about India, but there is still so much more to see and learn. So many varieties there! I definitely have to go back at one time.

I wanted to thank you for this challenge. I've been very quiet, and haven't posted any pictures, but I've been practicing with this challenge and it's been lovely. Also, you must have been correct when you answered my question about easy pose, because I have found that working on opening my chest has helped. The more metaphorical aspects of heart opening has been something I have needed to spend some focus on, and so it has felt good. Also, I participated in a holiday challenge at my gym that began in November. So suddenly I look up and I've been consistently working on fitting exercise in a busy and stressful life for four months, which is an achievement all on its own.

I (over)reacted at something at work today, and even though I couldn't quite keep myself from crying, I do credit the yoga I've been doing with being able to exist inside the moment better than I might have done, and even though my productivity was easily derailed after and never really recovered, I am grateful that I haven't beaten myself up over it and actually feel that tomorrow is a new day. I will start with your morning meditation video, though, that's for sure! Thanks, and I'm looking forward to March.

I came to say huge "Thank you Candace" again. Just did today's "45 min feel good practice" - and I really-really feel good now
And thank you for including a full savasana in it - it's always a trick to note the time for it, lying there with your eyes closed

Meugenio, I am sure you do have a progress  , it was just a bad day. We all have those from time to time.

Candace, could I be cheeky and ask you to release the next update on Sunday night?

I can only practice at 6 am each morning, and since I'm in the UK, that means the schedule comes out too late for me!
If not that is totally fine, I'm sure I could make it work some other way :-)

I'm having a lot of fun with to his challenge, especially as I'm trying to keep working on my strength poses from the last challenge. I know that with more constant work full grasshopper will come to me sooner than later.

My regular dancer's pose has improved significantly - much better balance, feeling more grounded on my standing leg, which is a huge issue for me as I have flat feet-, though I know I still have room for improvement, in particular when it comes to keeping my hips more aligned. Full dancer's pose remains a hope rather than a certainty in my horizon, though I'm avoiding using straps as I almost fell flat on my face last time I used them. I keep getting all tangled up and losing my balance, so I'll find my own way into the pose.

King pigeon is a new favourite I really do love the open feeling in my chest. There's nothing else quite like it.

This is totally normal. Part of the journey for sure. Tell me your chosen pose again? Did you take a starter picture? Because sometimes I feel like I am making ZERO progress and then I'll look back and see an actual difference in the photos. It's totally possible you're focusing too much on one area. Tell me your pose again and I'll see if I can offer some suggestions.

Mkay confession: I almost cried on my yoga mat yesterday. I've read that some people feel an emotional release after doing lots of heart-opening and I've always been skeptical about this. Whelp, I definitely felt the tears welling up after practicing dancer's pose. I think it's stemming from a bit of pent-up frustration because I don't really feel or see any progress in my chosen pose. My back has been feeling a little tighter than usual; maybe I'm focusing too much on spinal flexion and extension? Maybe I should do some more rotation and twists? I dunno, but I took a step back and didn't practice my chosen pose today. I might have to avoid it for a while and then come back to it. I'm trying to honor my body, but it's pretty hard when my ego thinks that I can keep pushing it. Ah here's to being patient with myself!

I've really loved yesterday's sequence for tight hips, it made me feel soo good and ready for my dancer's pose practice.
I think I'll add very often this sequence to my yoga routine

Loving the feeling of getting back to my practice , feeling super motivated, but still taking it slowly since my airways are still on the mend

Thanks Candace Wooow, a mini split, so today's hip flexors sequence will be perfect!

So awesome to come on here after a few days of travel to see you guys chit chatting. I've been checking in on instagram and am blown away by the crazy amount of awesome that is the #YBCbackbend hashtag. You're all so fantastic.

Totally up to you - arm can be parallel to the floor with palm facing down, arm can be bent sort of like a U with the index and thumb touching, arm can be straight up. make it yours

just like maria said (thx, maria!) 3-7 breaths is great, or until you find your edge

lifting the leg just adds another element of flexibility to the already intense mix of shoulder, chest, armpit, front body and hip flexor. Lifting the leg is like doing a split so if you lift the right leg you'll be looking to increase flexibility in the right leg hamstring and left leg hip flexor (which you're already doing with wheel but it'll be even deeper because you're essentially doing a little split)

Haha, I know exactly what you mean, I find the same in wheel. On Monday I was sure I couldn't possibly be in a more perfect semi-circular shape as my back felt so curved, nope, it was practically flat like a tabletop!

    Good morning!
I have a question about wheel pose: I can reach this pose and hold it for about 8-10 breaths, I can go on tippy toes for a few seconds, but the only idea of lifting one leg seems me crazy!
Where do you think I have to work and focus on? Shoulders strength? Core strength?

Thanks and have a great day you all!

thanks...it's easier for me to focus on breaths because in bow pose i feel the sensation immediately lol...i'll start with 4 breaths then go from there
