  1. Thanks good job to you too. I don't do any classes I just try to make it to my mat at least once a day and go through a couple of videos before working on a few strength & balance poses
  2. Opened up with long strengthening & heart opening flow thins morning. Then I worked on my baby grasshopper and some balance poses tree, warrior 3 and dancers pose. After that I followed a guided chakra aligning meditation and worked on my grasshopper again.
  3. Hi nfenchak, nice to meet you too. Sorry, I am just now seeing figuring out the ins and outs of this community but will follow you on instagram. Have you read anything good lately? How have you been with the strength challenge? So far I have missed 2 days out of 6 but I made up for both those days by getting on my mat twice the next day to practice my baby grasshopper and do a strengthening flow.
  4. My mat now has a permenant home again. I'm really looking forward to getting back into a daily practice & coming ot my mat as much as possible both with & without my little yogi

  5. Thanks for the tips Candace. I recorded my morning practice but that was before reading this and I pretty much did every don't you mentioned LOL. Tomorrow I will pick a better spot and try to get a better angle.
  6. Got on my mat this morning for over an hour again and I feel great My right side needs more work in my babygrasshopper by my left side is starting to look & feel really good. I love that this strength challenge pushes me to come to my mat each morning & find my edge. I'm remembering all the reasons why I fell in love with yoga in the first place and why it was such a big part of my daily life. So far this challenge has taught me not to assume which side is my stronger side, turns out my dominant side is actually the side that needs more work in baby grasshopper. Yesterday afternoon I strapped my mini yogi on my chest for some fun babywearing yoga. We had a blast and I learned that tree pose is very fun, yet extremely challenging with a moving 20lb weight strapped to your chest but I held each side for 5 long breaths. The sequence ended up putting her to sleep and I got to work on my baby grasshopper again
  7. Yay for long morning yoga! <3

  8. Okay, so I have been following the YBC hashtags on instagram and I am curious as to how everyone takes photos of their practice. I'd like to start photographing my practice but I have no clue how to do so. Do you use a real camera or a phone camera? Webcam? Are you filming and then taking screen shots or using a timing device? Where do you put your camera?
  9. I powered through 3 YBC videos this morning to make up for not being able to make it to the mat yesterday. Morning wake up yoga, yoga for strength & flexibility & 20 min flow for core strengthening) When my little yogi wakes up I plan on doing a fun little flow with her since she loves to get on the mat with me.
  10. LOL, OP your post made me laugh. I do agree though it's a great post & Candace did rock it I'm guilty of 1, 3,4, 5 , 7, & 10
  11. I tried so hard to make it to my mat yesterday, but between the baby waking up SUPER early & our roommate staying up in the living room till past 3am, it just didn't happen. I did get the chance to meditate before bed though & this morning I worked on my baby grasshopper for 10 min after I powered through 3 YBC videos. Since I didn't get to work on my baby grass hopper yesterday, I am making it my intention to get back on my mat at least once more today to work on it some more.
  12. How does everybody get their yoga pose 'selfies'? I'd like to take photos of my baby grasshopper to track my progress but have no clue how I will do it I don't have a front camera or a timer on my phone
  13. My first attempt at getting in a good practice today was interrupted by my giggly little yogi who actually did a few down dogs & cobras with me before deciding I was her personal jungle gym To make up for it I just got done with an hour and 5 minute long practice. I didn't intend for it to be so long but I'm glad I kept going all the stress from the day is gone & I may actually be in bed before 10 tonight.
  14. Whoo!!!! I made it to my mat 2 out of three days so far this year. Worked on my grasshopper yesterday and was able to hold it for 1 breath longer each time I got into it, by the end of the night I was at 3 long breaths, tonight, we shoot for 6. I'm super excited to get to work on it again once my little yogi goes to bed, it's a fun pose and makes me feel powerful. I made an instagram so I can participate more, I don't know how I'm going to get shots of me in my babygrasshopper yet but where there is a will there is a way. Follow me @the_lavender_yogi & I'll follow you back **My first attempt at getting in a good practice today was interrupted by my giggly little yogi who actually did a few down dogs & cobras with me before deciding I was her personal jungle gym To make up for it I just got done with an hour and 5 minute long practice. My baby grasshopper is improving but I still need to work on my form.
  15. Thanks yogafire I'm not limiting myself to just 1 yoga buddy, just looking for some like minded buddies to check in with regularly aside from challenges. I'm going to check in with the other thread now that I know it exists.
