I see! It's unfortunate that some yogis are non-inclusive, even though a mixed fanbase would mean more viewers! Thanks for replying though  I'm sure everyone'll be fine on their own too haha

I know how you feel, I get distracted from yoga an awful lot (and sometimes I simply procrastinate haha) even though I know I'll feel much better doing yoga.
I don't think it's that big of a problem, to be honest, I still feel comfortable being lazy so as long as your pause doesn't affect your life in a negative way then I guess it's harmless!
I used to practise with @charly4491 all the time, mostly last year though. This year not so much. It's much harder for me to motivate myself than to train with a friend. Stuff like that just happens.
About starting again, maybe you'll find some niche groups of people on social media in your vicinity who practise yoga without obligatory classes. And if you really feel like starting up again really quickly then I'd guess you should just go for it haha!
    Good luck!

Hi! Great question. I think for me it just boils down to logistics. I've never been in the same place as the other yogis you mentioned in order to film together.  Annnd to be honest, you would be surprised how....non-inclusive... the yoga business world can be. That's not directed at any of the yogis you mentioned, but when people have worked very hard to build a loyal following, it's not unheard of for them to want to kind of keep it to themselves. This also goes for studios. I have a very, very tough time finding a studio who will allow me to guest teach.

Hey everyone, I'm sure that everyone visits Candace's youtube channel to find yoga routines and health tips and whatnot (and if you don't, then go check it out asap!).
I noticed that Candace has never done any collaborations with the other youtube yogis so I was wondering if that could ever be possible?
I mean, there are many people out there, you have Adriene, Kassandra, Sarah Beth, Psychetruth, and many more, right!
So what do you think about a Youtube Yogi collab, @YogaByCandace? Have you ever thought about doing one?
For partner exercises, routines or to discuss the lifestyle differences between the both of you, who knows what else?
Don't feel pressured though, I'm just wondering! Thanks for all the great work and good luck!

Do any of you have periods in which you just stop practicing after a life change? Recently I came back from Singapore and I experienced such a physical /emotional / spiritual overhaul there that it came upon me like a tide change. Upon returning to Montreal, I haven't actually done my daily practice. Partly because I realize I was  unconsciously using it as a way to 'exercise', and not to really be calm (although it did make me calm). I've been interested in perhaps pursuing a softer, yin practice and I've been exploring pranayama. But I find it's kind of hard to explore that side of yoga... which is what I"m interested in. I have zero motivation to do arm balances (although I still do inversions for fun) or a vigorous 'strong' practice. Ironically I have lost weight... maybe that's part of the reason why I'm not keen to pursue a strong practice.
Do you guys have any experience experiencing such a period of 'drought' from physical asana? I really want to go back into yoga, but I don't know quite how to start. I want to enter it from the other limbs... if you guys have suggestions, I'd been so grateful!

We recently added a block (a small module on the main forum page) that lists members celebrating a birthday today. Of course, the decision to reveal your birth date is entirely voluntary. The next time you visit the main forum page, glance over and see if one of your forum friend's is celebrating a special day! The block will only appear if there's a birthday to display.

I must be getting old! The only singer/band out of all those listed that I recognized is Nickelback and I couldn't tell you what they sing. Sorry I couldn't help, lol.

This forum is for asking questions to be answered by your fellow community members. Please create a new thread in this forum for each individual question. All answers/discussions pertaining to the question should be kept in its individual thread. We have a lot of really knowledgeable yoga students/teachers in this community, so no worries - you're sure to get great answers! Keeping each question/answer together will help de-clutter the forum and ensure everyone finds what they're looking for efficiently.

If you would like to submit a question to be answered by Candace in the weekly Ask a Yoga Question blog post, feel free to submit your question here. Please leave questions only, no discussions, as this will help keep things easier for me to source questions.

    Thanks for your understanding!

I added a "block" (a small module on the right side of the main forum page http://forum.yogabycandace.com) that lists members who are online an in the chat area. This might help make it easier to find friends who are available to communicate with.

    Hi YBCers,
I went ahead and activated the live chat tab at the index of the forum page. If you find yourself online at the same time as other members, it can be a quicker and more efficient way to hold a conversation with one another. A few people had requested the feature and we are happy to have it.

Clicking on the "Chat" tab just below the YBC logo with automatically enter you into the chat room. Once you have entered you can simply join the conversation. There is a button to the right of the page that also allows you to move the chat room into a separate window that will make it convenient to continue chatting live and surf the forum at the same time.

If you want to leave the chat but stay on the forum, be sure the click the "leave chat" button on the right side of the chat page.

OK, so I understand the concept of ahimsa, but, I still kill flies if they're inside my house. I understand this can bother some people, so, if that includes you, please stop reading!
It's spring time, so we get these giant flies that like to come indoors - they buzz so loudly that I think they're bumblebees, and it startles me usually.  I honestly think if the buzzing wasn't there, I wouldn't mind as much (since they don't bite like mosquitoes). So, I just killed one at my house the other night, by turning off all the lights, and once he landed on my computer monitor, I smacked him so hard with a flyswatter that he fell down right away. Good, he didn't have to suffer.  Anyway, I got a little proud of myself for my whacking skills because my husband has definitely missed before!
So, the other day we were winding down at the end of class, so I knew shavasana was coming near. But, then, giant fly buzzes overhead, and I instinctively reel back. And then, I thought, "Let me whack him hard with my yoga block! Or roll up my mat to use! I can get him!"  I laughed to myself, thinking how appalling and disruptive that would have been.  I did let the fly go, and luckily he found some other place to buzz around during shavasana.
Anyway, I found this whole circumstance amusing - so I was wondering, has anyone had some un-yogic impluse that they did or did not act upon during class? Something you would normally do outside of yoga class but felt it was inappropriate during class?

I think if people waiting in the chat room can turn on their sound, there's the "knock knock" when someone joins? Otherwise, we do get notifications of new posts to a thread... so we could just start a new thread that everyone posts in each time they join a chat, and then post when people enter.  I have seen new replies to threads I participated in in other windows before.  For example - do you see this post notification? I see you in chat!

Then, Larry can easily delete those threads to clean up the forum after the fact.

You're right @yogafire, but the sound notifications only work when the chat tab is active, haha! That's why I didn't hear you in the chat when I was browsing other pages

    Thanks...that's the best option.
The admin control panel only has these options...

    ...so I don't think it's possible.
I think the best choice for those interested in chatting would be to create a schedule so folk could arrange to meet

Thank you . I have never thought about a lack of flexibility in my calf muscles. I will look for some specific exercises to stretch that area and see how it goes. I don't think it is the problem though because I'm quite flexible in general and I always stretch after my workout.
Thank you for the links !! Very interesting and helpful yes, I have been going to a podiatrist (is that a real word? Sorry, I'm not a native speaker^^) for a few years and I wear orthopedic soles. Therefore, walking doesn't really cause me pain (anymore) and I definitively have more balance when wearing shoes with my soles. I have already considered practicing yoga with my shoes on, but I don't really enjoy it. Anyway, I am going to check and try different exercises to see how it goes

    Hi there Malayiiika!
It's possible that your achilles tendons are tense, but you should also consider the possibility that your calf muscles may not be flexible enough  There are great exercises to stretch your lower legs!

...ever think about how much you love yoga, how much it has changed your life, how much your practice has progressed, etc. and literally just want to break down in tears? I've been having a lot of these moments lately and want to give back to this amazing thing and help others experience it, but sometimes it just is so overwhelming I can't do anything but sob!
    Hope I'm not insane...;)
