Sharp Pain in Clalfs

Every time I try to stretch my hamstrings while sitting in my butt while trying to touch my toes, I have this huge sharp pain in my calfs and I don't know how to get it out and it hurts really bad. Can anyone help?

You shouldn't feel pain in yoga. If you do, stop, back up and reassess what you're doing. If you attend classes, ask the instructor.

Don't worry about touching your toes, that is NOT the goal of the seated forward fold.

The goal is to keep the back as straight as possible, angle forward as far as you can...which, most likely wont be all the way to your toes. Use a towel or yoga strap to assist.

It's okay (advisable) to keep a micro bend in your knees
