Early Pregnancy Yoga For Beginners

Hi Candace,

 

I am just over 13 weeks pregnant, I have been unwell for the first 12 weeks with bad nausea and sickness as well as fatigue.  I did try to practice but I would just vomit.  I am now feeling better and i want to start my practice again but being so ill has made me nervous. I have also lost so much movement in my body/flexibility i feel stiff and weak. 

 

please can you recommend a way for me to get back into the swing of things, some simple flows or variations.  

 

I would also really appreciate it if you could recommend any pregnancy yoga forums, or blogs anything with a yoga and pregnancy community.

Hi Amy, I'm so sorry - I don't know how I missed this post! Unfortunately, I won't be of much help because I don't know of any pregnancy forums or blogs but if you post in the Ask the Community section, someone else might be have some ideas. As for getting back in the swing of things, I think it's just super important to listen to how your body feels. Only resume your practice if you truly feel like your body and soul is craving it. Then, take a beginner's approach, always staying really mindful of how you feel and honoring that. I'd look for a prenatal yoga class in your town or on youtube or something and go from there.
