How To Improve My Forearm Balance

2 posts in this topic

Hello Candace,

First of all I want to thank you for your incredible youtube channel, your website and also this community that helps connect yogi people from all over the world! Great job! ;)

I have been practising yoga for 3 years, I don't practise every day, just 2 times a week, but I do exercise every day, I love HIIT, cardio, BOSU trainig etc., as I am improving my yoga skills I am getting more curious about intermediate poses that really actract me. My goal is Scorpion Pose, but it looks muuuch easier than it actually is! Haha, I was so naive trying to get into the pose at the beginning with almost no knowledge of the proper form. So instead of Scorpion Pose I am now practising forearm balance called Pinchamayurasana. At the beginnig I could neither get my legs up nor hold the posture for few seconds. But I am working on it, I have already strengthen my shoulders, back and abdominals to get my butt and legs up, but now I don't know how to hold the stability. Which muscles should I engage the most? How far away should my forearms be? Is it correct to keep practising against the wall until I get more confidence? Should I arch my torso? I sometimes feel the tense between my shoulder blade, is it okay? I would reeaally appreciate your tutorial how to get into this pose and how to improve it.

Thanks soo much, I can't wait to hear from you! With Love, Vera. <a href=http://www.freesmile
