Paying A Yoga Instructor? Help!

3 posts in this topic

Hi guys!

Quick question for all of you yogis. :)

I am opening up my own start up yoga studio in the near future. I'm from a pretty small town. So it's not like a big city studio.

I was curious - What do you guys think a good amount is to pay my instructors for an hour long yoga session?

Thank you for your help!!!

The yoga studio where I'm completing my teacher training program pays its instructors either $25/class or $20/class + $5 for each student after the first three students. Most teachers choose the latter option. It's not a big studio, drop-in classes are $20, and I think that most of the folks who take the classes are likely to have a monthly membership (which is around $100). I don't believe that teachers are paid more for longer classes, but I could be wrong...

What Kristi says sounds about right. You could also offer incentives for a little bonus if you have a referral program to get people to sign up - might give the instructor a little push to mention the studio to people when they're out and about :)
