My Weight In Headstand

2 posts in this topic

Hi candace,

where should my weight be when doing headstand?

equally spread on head and forearms?

or much of it on head and the forearms are to maintain the balance ?

how to be able to lift the legs together without kicking?

and hope you can demonstrate in video how to grip the hands in a correct way,

because I saw two different way on internet , so I want the correct one.

Thank you in advance

For the hands, just interlace your fingers. For the weight, you want the majority of the weight to be in your forearms. For lifting the leg without kicking you'll want to work on flexibility in the hamstrings and hip flexors. Once the flexibility is there to lift one leg up and keep it really long, you'll look to engage your core and press press press into the forearms. There's a good demo in today's ask a yoga question video. :)
